Getting Started

This guide walks you through signing in, finding your way around the dashboard, and understanding the core concepts behind TrackLab.

Sign in or register

Head to tracklabsolar.com/signIn to sign in or create a new account. After registering you will receive a verification email — follow the link to activate your account. If you forget your password, the sign-in page has a reset option that sends a recovery link to your email.

Select your company

After signing in you land on the company selector. If you belong to more than one organisation, pick the one you want to work in. Companies are listed by priority — your primary company appears first. You can switch companies at any time from the user menu.

Your first look: the Dashboard

The dashboard gives you a high-level snapshot of your fleet.

  • Sites — Total number of farms you manage.
  • Units — Combined count of controllers across all sites.
  • Resource Mix — Breakdown of device types in your portfolio.
  • Onboarding Trend — How your fleet size has changed over time.
  • Collector Locations — Map showing where your controllers are deployed.

Use the dashboard as a jumping-off point: click any widget to drill into the detail behind the numbers.

TrackLab is built for keyboard-first navigation.

  • Command palette — Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on macOS) to open the command palette from any page. Type to filter, press Enter to go.
  • G-sequences — Press G followed by a letter to jump straight to a page (for example G then D for the dashboard). The full list is in the Command Palette & Keyboard Shortcuts reference.

Key concepts

TrackLab organises solar tracking hardware in a three-level hierarchy:

1FarmA physical solar site — one or more contiguous tracker fields.
2SectionA logical grouping of rows within a farm.
3CollectorAn individual controller on a row — either an NCU or a TCU.

NCU (Network Control Unit) — The site-level controller. Each farm typically has one NCU that coordinates communication with all TCUs on that site.

TCU (Tracker Control Unit) — The per-row controller. Each tracker row has its own TCU that drives motor movements based on commands from the NCU.
